Sycamore Ridge Community News & Info
With the temperatures at night starting to go below freezing and winter right around the corner, the Sycamore Ridge Board would like to remind owners of a few winter safety issues during winter and when units are vacant.
* Set your thermostats to at least 50 degrees in winter months to avoid freezing pipes. Leaves sink doors open to allow warmer air to circulate. Utilities are to remain on all year as states in the rules and regulations.
* Shut off your water as it comes into the unit. In the event a pipe bursts, this will limit the amount of water that can flood the unit.
* If your fridge has an automatic ice machine and you plant to be gone an extended amount of time, please turn off the water to the fridge. Over time the plastic piping breaks down and if a crack occurs it will flood the unit until the water is off.
* All building front doors are to remain closed.
* Space heaters should not be plugged into extension cords, nor left unattended.
* Have your heaters checked now before cold weather causes a necessity and repair persons are booked up.
* Any damage due to owner negligence will be owner's financial responsibility.
